Venu 3 Battery life settings and error when updating settings from connect app

Can any one confirm what settings they are using to get the advertised 13 days battery life. had the watch since early Saturday morning. and its down to 53% now (so 4.5days) so maybe 10 days total based on this.

ive set the DND up although its annoying you cant set the battery saver mode to work like it does on an epix pro or instinct. Also not having a way to disable the wifi was annoying so i removed the network from the watch too

timeout medium

sensitivity low

gesture mode

brightness medium

ive tried everything and doesnt seem to change the battery life.

i have also noticed that there appears to be an issue with the garmin connect app and its connection to the phone to change certain settings. a good example being going to activities and editing the data fields on an activity profile. select the field you want to change and select anything... Time of day for example. the error pops up "settings unable to be changed" but then changes it anyway. any one else had this issue

  • For me it is always 7-8 days without any activity GPS, gesture even off, low brightness and short time screen on.

On manual I saw that there can be 750 gestures per day. Im not even close to that sheet:

That's why yesterday I have returned mine venu 3 and waiting for replace with brand new model. If it will still exist then I will return it again and i will be done with that watch. Crazy that venu 2 plus lasted longer. I upgraded it just for battery life which is worse in older gen.

  • I doubt you'll ever get the advertised battery life. However, mine is considerably better better than my Venu 2 Plus. Is there an issue with charging your watch about once a week? That's still fantastic compared to other smart watches.

For reference, mine uses about 20% per day. This is with AOD on, auto-brightness, about 40 minutes of GPS every day, two additional activities about three days a week, and sleep tracking every night. This leaves most other smart watches dead after a day. With these same settings, my Venu 2 Plus uses about 30% per day.

  • Well, for me the most important thing is battery life and smartwatch functions (voice call, notifications reading). Before venu 2 plus I had amazfit and it lasted 14 days on battery but I wanted more precise watch. That's why I switched to venu 2 plus and now to venu 3.

Anyway advertising up to 14 days on battery life and giving spreadsheet where We can read that it is possible to get it with funcions and usage like this is misleading customers. I hate fake informations giving by companies. I thought garmin is different but now I see that I was wrong

  • Yes, understood. While advertising is misleading, you won't get more (or as much) battery from a watch this capable (unless maybe a solar for twice as much). I guess what I'm saying is consider what you're getting and put aside the marketing (if you can) if the watch will fulfil your needs. All companies do it. I'm sure there's a configuration that'll get the advertised battery life, but it's probably of little use to someone wearing the watch. Please let us know of you find something better, we'd all like to know what it is.

  • I know what your saying but it must be possible otherwise they wouldn't advertise it. But some of the settings just baffle me. My old instinct gen 1 had the option to set your sleep cycle, your do not disturb and your battery saver and all would schedule and work perfectly. But on the venu 3 you can set the sleep cycle and do not disturb. The battery saver is there but can't be scheduled or tweaked. I.e it says its disables a lot of features including heart rate which on all.other watches was tweakable to keep the HR on for sleep tracking. This 1 small change would add loads of battery life. On my epix pro listed 31 days I'm predicted 33 days after 9 days of use just but using battery saver.
