I am not sure I understand the question. If a Pool Swim activity is started on the device, it should automatically record the time participating in the activity. Where are you looking for the information and not seeing it? Have you saved Pool Swim activities that didnt record the length of time? If so, may we review your Garmin Connect account and which dates should we review?
1) If you set a default pool size in the Pool Swim Settings - it will no longer ask you to set the size each time you start an activity - Setting the Pool Size
2) If during the swim you want the device to display the overall activity time and nothing else. Customize the data screen to have a layout of 1 field and set the field to Timer - www.youtube.com/watch
