How do you access settings on the built in watch faces?

I can customise added watch face settings in the Connect IQ phone app, but is there a way to customise the built in watch faces?

When you swipe through the available watch faces you will see a pencil under those that the settings can be changed. If the pencil doesn't appear, that face can't have the settings changed.
