Garmin Venu 2 - Heart Rate Sensor seized to function displaying (heart rate shows as "--") - On Version 19.05

The heart rate sensor & blood Ox sensors have stopped functioning. I've done all the troubleshooting on all of the similar posts however had no success in regaining the functionality. I've gone as far as doing a full reset a few times with no luck. The Garmin Venu 2 is on SW Version is 19.05 and all of the necessary settings regarding the sensor are correct. Please advise as to next steps... this problem appears to be prevalent across this particular model. I use this daily so it's imperative I get it up and running.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

  • Thank you!

Please follow the steps in Turning Off Activity Tracking to turn the Activity Tracking setting off, wait for 10 seconds, then turn it back on. If it is already off then go ahead and turn it on. Once you have done that you should see the green lights for the optical heart readers return.

  • I've attempted this in the past with no success in the past, along with a full factory reset a few times. I went ahead and tried it once again though timed down to the 10 seconds, 20 seconds and 30 seconds and never saw the green lights turn on. Please let me know what else I should attempt.

  • If you toggled that Activity tracking setting with no success you will need to follow the steps in this article to remove the device from Garmin Connect and then add it back again. Remove and Add a Device From the Garmin Connect App. There appears to be an issue with the account it is associated to and those steps should resolve it.

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this topic, please contact Garmin Support for the most efficient and detailed assistance

  • Yeah this did absolutely nothing for me... I've Removed and Added it back and tried your exact same procedure for activity tracking and no lights ever come on. There is nothing wrong with my account on my end, I'm able to synch information back forth from my phone to my watch. The only thing this watch is regrettably not doing is allowing be to check my heart rate which was the key point to having it. I guess ill reach out to support.

  • I have the same issue, it stopped working all of the sudden.
