Venu 2 keeps turning off

My 2 year old Venu2S keeps turning off part way through walking activity. Today at 65% charge it saved part of the walk while I was still walking and then turned itself off. The only way to get it to turn back on was to put it back on the charger. It becomes almost a daily occurrence now. Can you please advise in how to fix it?

  • I spoke with Garmin support today and the agent I spoke with said there will be no more firmware updates for this watch. He also said it's not possible to roll back to an earlier firmware version. He offered to do an exchange for a refurbished model for $140, but I don't think so...

  • Hi everyone,

my wife had the same problem since the firmware update. The watch just kept turning off while recording an activity. She contacted the customer service, but without any kind of reaction till now.

She tried to find any patterns in the incidents and realized it always seems to happen when the watch was about to vibrate. She deactivated all vibrations and till now, three weeks later, the watch was running without any unexpected shutdowns.

    Perhaps this observation helps anyone!

    Cheers

  • Interesting observation! Worth a try...

  • I have been facing the same issue for the last two weeks. Did a reset for the watch it didn’t help.

  • Same issue. Turns off after activity ends.

  • Finally ,t his method didn't work for me too.  I have tried some cases - without any custom wathfaces, with most energy safe mode - result is the same.  I just left venu2 waiting for SW update from garmin, if it would be, of course

I have bought used Apple Watch 6 (less than 100$) and this summer I will face with hard choice of choosing which new watches should be bought - Garmin or Apple

  • Hm, thanks. I will check

  • I also decided not to accept the offer to buy the same model for $140. Instead, I bought a new Samsung Fit 3 for $40 and I am very happy with it so far. It records sleep, steps, floors, swimming, etc ... That's what I mostly used with Venu2.

  • We are having the same issue with my Fiancee's Venu2s. Another issue is that we can't get it to connect to the iPhone now that we tried the reset to factory settings. Due to the number of people here experiencing the same issue and Garmin ignoring it, I wonder if it was purposefully bricked? Maybe a class action lawsuit is in order due to the number of people having the exact same issue. Seems suspect.

  • I am sorry that you are experiencing this disruption. For those impacted, please contact Garmin Support in your region. It is possible that your device will need to be exchanged and exchanges cannot be initiated via the Forums
