High Battery Drain on Version 19.05

Took my Venu 2 off charge (100%) at 20:00 last night and this morning at 07:00 it is already 84%.

What is draining the battery so much during the night when I'm asleep?

  • I have had similar, or even worse, experiences with Venu 2 and version 19.05.

Yesterday evening my Venu 2 had about 40–50 % battery left. At morning the charge was below 10 % and then in about 30 minutes the charge went down to 0 %. This was the third time when the battery drained very fast after 19.05 update.

  • I have a similar problem, the watch works fine but when it gets to about 30%, the watch turns off... No more battery... This usually happens between 20 and 30%.

  • Same with me, have been waiting for an update for months, hoping that it would solve the issue. My average battery drain without GPS and without auto-start activity is 19% per day, where it used to be 11 ou 12! When you add those 2 features (that I use regularly), it went from 17% to 24%/day. Comparisons are between 19.0.x and previous 18.x

  • same issue here, also there is an update and it is stuck in Download Successful but doesn't install and even drains the battery quicker

  • Mine also has that bug. But there is no new version, only the watch believing that there is and trying non-stop to download and install it. I confirm that doing this update procedure on the watch does increase the battery drain even more, and the only solution is to turn it off and on and never go back to the "software update" until you've confirmed there is one available here on the forum. But it's been a while since the last one, and really hope they correct this bug and don't leave us with that version forever.

  • Same problem with the Venu 3s.

They built the bug into all devices Disappointed

  • Still the same here. On my Venu 2 with version 19.05 the battery goes from about 60% to 0% within about 2 hours. The watch simply turns off without warning that the battery is low

  • I saw a guy on Reddit who fixed the problem by:
    - Removing the device from the Garmin Connect app
    - Forgetting the pairing in the Bluetooth settings
    - Turning Bluetooth off and restarting the phone (maybe optional step)
    - Turning the watch off and then on (maybe optional step)
    - Going to Garmin Connect and adding the device
    - On the watch, go to Settings, Connectivity, Phone, Pair Phone
    - Waiting for the two devices to find and pair
    - Going through the initial setup process in the Garmin Connect app
    I'm gonna try this
  • Garmin support is dead ? no answer from them ! We need a new firmware please !
