garmin background second owner problem

i bought a second hand garmin venu and installed a new background, but the leopard print from the old user is stil behind the background

It would help if you attached a photo, but sounds to me like a severe screen burn-in, and in that case the display is permanently degraded and cannot be fixed.

Also - do you have an original Venu or a Venu 2? The Venu 2 seems to be where Garmin added burn-in protection requirements for developers when they are developing their watch faces.
