New Venu 2s Battery Drain?

Hi!

I bought my wife a Venu 2s less than a week ago. After two days of use (2 walking activities w/ GPS), the watch needed a complete recharge. I found that odd, as my FR 255 last for two weeks and I run daily.

Yesterday, I charged it to 100%. She hasn't used it since, not even wearing it, and in less than 24 hours the battery was at 60%. Is this normal? Or should I return it?

  • Normal for the Venu 2s to have battery drain issues.  It is a known problem with this model.  I am on my second (replacement Venu 2s) and just started having the problem again.   Send it back before it is out of warranty, and choose a more reliable model.

  • You'll want to try the tips in this FAQ to maximize battery life: Tips to Extend the Battery Life on a Garmin Fitness Watch. If you continue to experience rapid battery drain, you'll want to reach out to your local Garmin Support team to investigate.

  • Thanks. However, the way I understand that information is such: Garmin made and marketed a product with a bunch of features, but didn't include an adequate power source to support the use of said features for a reasonable amount of time before having to charge. Therefore, as a half-hearted solution, Garmin recommends de-activating most of those features until necessary. Right. I once had a Samsung with a battery llife that made the Venu 2s look ridiculous.

  • Thanks for the input. This has been the most disappointing Garmin purchase that I have made.

  • I also have the 2s with most of the features active (except the always on display) and I get 5-6 days out of it with two runs per week (with GPS) and a couple of swims (no GPS).

Unless your walks with the GPS on were 8 hour ones and you also have the always on display enabled, you should be seeing much better battery life...
