Heart rate from watch is incorrect and doesn't prioritize my heart rate band

Hello Garmin Community,

I've encountered an issue with my Venu 2 watch and would appreciate your insights. During my cycling sessions, I've observed significant discrepancies in heart rate readings between my Venu 2 and my 530 bike computer, which is connected to an HRM-Dual strap. The difference can be as much as 40 beats per minute.

For instance, while indoor cycling, my bike computer showed 120 bpm, but the Venu 2 displayed only 90 bpm. I noticed that the readings align when I remove the watch, suggesting that the watch might prioritize its own sensor over the connected HR strap.

I have 3 questions:

  1. Could there be a fault with my Venu 2 causing inaccurate heart rate measurements?
  2. Is it possible to configure the HR strap to override the watch's sensor when connected?
  3. Can I calibrate the heart rate of my watch with my band?

Any guidance or information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!
