Venu 2 charging slowly since recent firmware update

I've noticed that my Venu 2 now charges the battery much slower than it used to. Think it's since one of the recent firmware updates. I always used to be able to plug it in for a daily top up and about 20 mins would be sufficient to replenish the battery. Now it's taking a lot longer. Recently I let it run down over several days (My venu 2 is about 18 months old and I've no issue with how long a charged battery is lasting), and it took about 2 hours to charge back up to full from about 15%. It used to do a full charge in about an hour, or less.

Is this an intentional change? I notice some cryptic comments in the firmware update notes about 'changes to preserve the lifespan of the battery'. Seems they've maybe slowed down the charging current to put less stress on the battery. Not sure if that'll make any difference, but the slower charging is certainly a bit frustrating.

    I also suffer from slow charging since the last update. Very irritating...

    Previously I could charge the venu 2 in an hour and often half an hour was enough to get through a few days.

    Hope this will be fixed with a next update because this really doesn't work nicely. Even a Samsung watch charges wirelessly even faster...

    Dear Garmin, did you test your devices before the new update release??? Its so annoying when the charging takes x3 times. Its so slow in 15.20 ver.

    please fix that issue and also fix laggy scrolling animation in the menu. Im not satisfying with your product last 6month

    I´ve also noticed slower charging and raised battery drain (didn´t installed/changed/set anything new in last days).

    New Venu 2 was charged from 0 - 100% in 90 minutes.
    Now charged only from 20 - 100% in 120 minutes!

    All this maybe after the last firmware update... suspiciously right when new Venu 3 appeared Thinking

    I've been facing the same problem since June. Plus, now the watch turns off by itself when the battery reaches 63%. I now regret that I've invested around U$500 on this watch that hasn't worked properly for months. It's been pretty useless since I updated it to version 14, and now to v15.20.

    Please check my answer on the other topic you've replied. My local support doesn't provide support to Venu 2S anymore. What should I do?

    It never used to take 2 hours though. I've had my Venu2 for nearly 2 years and it's always charged at the same rate - about 1 hour for a full charge. It has never taken 2 hours to charge, not until recently. In the 15.20 firmware one of the changes is cryptically described as 'to help preserve battery life'. Has Garmin slowed down the rate that the battery is charged at in an attempt to make the battery not wear out so quickly? If that is the case, please be honest and admit that. It is charging frustratingly slowly now.
