venu 3 functions for VENU 2

The New Garmin Venu 3 has the functions long requested for Our Venu 2:
It's just a software issue, I think it could be implemented without a problem on the VENU 2!!

power meter support (ANT+ & Bluetooth Smart)
smart trainer support (ANT+ FE-C)
Sleep Coach feature, including sleep recommendation factors
Nap detection support (new to Garmin, finally!)
HRV tracking support (at night)
Morning Report feature
Daily Summary report feature (new to Garmin)
Recovery Time

  • Me too, after this experience with the watch never going back to Garmin

  • It's a distasteful joke. Venu 2 is my last watch from Garmin, he has not received any significant feature since the premiere. Instead, Garmin decided everything that people asked on the forum to throw into the new model and raise the price at 500 €...

  • I agree completely. In a few weeks my Apple Watch Series 5 from 2019 will receive all the new features of the new Apple Watch 9 when we all receive the update to Watch OS 10. My 2019 watch will work exactly the same as the new one releasing this year. Apple knows how to maintain loyalty to their brand. If my Venu 2 (which I bought 2months ago) doesn’t receive most of these new features, then I’m done with Garmin and going to completely shift my loyalties to Apple because they know how to reward their longtime customers. Come on Garmin! This is a simple software update. Don’t treat your loyal customers like this. Thanks.

  • Completely in agreement with what has been written so far.

  • In my history as a customer since I think 2015 or 2016 I bought 1 Edge 810, 820 and at the moment 1040 Solar, Forerunner 735XT and at the moment the Venu 2, I still have an Index S2... let's see until when.

  • Can you give your opinion on this topic?

  • And what exactly do you want him to say?

  • I think Garmin need to push more features to the venu 2 in general it seems like the forerunners get much better support and feature updates. That would make me question if a venu 3 is a good upgrade choice having had a venu 2. It is all software. Yes there is a need for differentiation, but Garmin has heaps of activity profiles... It wouldn't significantly harm the product offerings to include a morning report, mountain biking, open water swimming etc. Really it is just minor expansions to existing profiles...

I'd love to see more forerunner metrics on the venu, but I can't see Garmin doing that as it does impact their product positioning. That said though, i think Garmin's product range is unnecessarily crowded with too many products competing in similar spaces. Focusing on less watches that are more feature rich, with more style would be better approach in my opinion.

  • Having to upgrade a watch in order to be able to record more than one sleep period is absolutely absurd. I'll be seriously disappointed in Garmin if they reserve this "feature" for new models. It's not even about DETECTING naps, it's about being able to sleep for more than one period in a day without it overwriting the previous period.

  • Guys stop complaining they don't care. Just never ever buy garmin watch
