Emergency Assistance without Garmin Connect app

I use a simple lightweight feature phone for running (Nokia 105). Is there a way to use the EA feature without the Garmin Connect app? Or any recommendation for a lightweight cheap Android phone?

The phone needs at least Android 7.0. and cannot be the android go-edition, which many cheaper phones have.

Otherwise, you'd need a watch with LTE, such as the 945LTE, but then there is the required subscription service, so it could get costly.
