Multisport activity enable in edit mode

I don't know since when it became possible but you can now edit an activity to add intervals and convert it into a multisport activity.
It's still not native though, which is a shame.

  • and how? You mean later in the app? how do you do it on the watch?

  • Yes, after an activity. When you have stop and save the activity, you can go to the Garmin Connect app on mobile, and edit the activity to convert it in multisport activity.

Screenshot of edit page of an activity of walking which you have an option to convert the activity to a multisport activity. Then you can add interval and segment the activity in different sports.

Then you can add intervals and all sport you want.

  • Yes, thanks. but other than for triathlon... what does it make sense for?

  • Oh, I have no idea. I just wanted to indicate that it was possible.

  • Hi Tibo, I have also noticed this new feature in edit mode. Did you already try it ? If yes, which activity did you choose on the watch (running ? Cycling ?)? And was the swimming activity well monitored ?

  • I haven't tried this feature because I don't do triathlon.
I was asking myself the same question about swimming. It would also be interesting to know what metrics are recorded between running and cycling.
The only thing we can say with certainty is that the Venu 2 is capable of recording multi-sport activities but that Garmin refuses to allow this functionality natively.

  • Hi Tibo,

I used this feature after recording running activity for 3 chained XS triathlons.

Cycling, running and transition segments are recorded well. For swimming, we see the route globally but it is very imprecise and the distance is 3 times greater than the reality (already corrected on the picture).

I had to use the feature on the website as it did not work well on the application (too many segments ?)

  • Thanks for your return. I suspected that it would not really be optimized for. And it's not really a problem since there are applications on Connect IQ that already allow you to record multi-sport activities. The Venu 2 has been marketed since launch as a non-multisport watch, so it's understandable that it doesn't. And the absence of open water swimming as an activity on the watch confirms this.
