Raise or tap to wake sometimes doesn't work

I've had my Venu 2s for about a week after having an Apple Watch for as long I can remember. But but raise to wake hardly ever works and when I tap the screen to make it wake up I need to tap it maybe 5 or 6 times for it to wake up. All other functions work fine and can navigate the menus easily - which makes me think it's a software issue and not a problem with the actual screen.

I've been back and fourth with Garmin support over email sending videos and going resetting the device but nothing seems to work.

Is this a known bug and is there a fix?

  • I have the same issue with my new venu 2s. Before it i was using vivoactive 4s for a years and never experienced that

    I’m really disappointed because of it.

  • Today I just got a new Venu 2 coming from a Vivoactive 4 and am disappointed to confirm my suspicions, that this really a known (and still unsolved!) issue that others have had. 

    Any update on this? Otherwise I may reconsider returning the watch. 

  • There are some settings that need to be reviewed before we determine the next step. Please reach out to your local Garmin Support team to go over the settings with you. 

  • I'm having a similar issue.  On top of this, if I have to double tap to wake then I have to swipe up (or down) twice to get to Glances (never once).  I see this was fixed here but it seems to have reoccured.
