Screen very dim during my run today (after 12.13 update) - SOLVED

For the first time today I could barely read the screen at the end of my run (I had only looked at autolap pop-ups up that point and they seemed normal) as it was extremely dim as if it stayed in AOD mode. After I ended my run I toggled the display setting from Auto/Medium to Auto/High but it was still mostly illegible. After I got back inside it seemed to fix itsefl. Has anyone else noticed that ?

Let's hope it's not a new "feature" brought by yet another untested change to the code...what's strange is that my version shows 12.13 even though I'm in the beta program, was it 12.13B before ?

    So an update on this, there's clearly something that's changed with the 12.13 version, either they changed the intensity of Auto/Medium or the sensitivity of the light sensor but it's not working as well as it used to...you can always count on Garmin to break things that had always worked perfectly with an update that adds zero value and that they don't even have a change log for !

    By setting to Auto/Max it feels close to what it used to be Auto/Medium outdoors but indoors it's way too bright and has to be brought down to Audo/Medium.

    No else noticed a change in the BL behavior ?

    So I'm still confused by the issue and surprised no one else has seen it !

    I'm positive something's changed with recent updates because I'd never found it to be too dim when running with strong daylight or using it outdoors, now it's really weak. Even when bumping up the brightness to 3 it's still low. The problem seems to be due to the light sensor that dims the BL too much, maybe they tried to solve the battery drain that others have been experiencing...

    I have now updated to 13.09beta and will check again during my next run.

    During my run yesterday even though the sky was fairly overcast I could barely read the screen so I hope this will be fixed with 13.09beta. I find it hard to believe I would have missed such a problem in my dozens of previous runs and that it apparently wouldn't bother anyone else ! When I'm indoors the screen is as bright as ever.

    So after updating to 13.09beta and an extra reboot the problem is solved. Not sure what happened and why I seem to be the only one to have noticed this dimming but let's move on !

    I am having the east same problem, running v 15.2.  It is a recent occurrence, but I cannot say when it started.  Tried all the settings I could find and nothing worked.  Will try a reboot, but hate doing that because never know other consequences.
