Device won't stay off, battery drain, and HR not working

Edit: I posted this in "Bug Reports - Public Beta 12.13" earlier this morning, however I just now noticed that I should've reported it here, since 12.13 is now live.

Last Tuesday by midnight I took off my watch, turned it off an put it away. Last night, when I wanted to turn it on again, I found that it couldn't since the battery was depleted even though I fully charged it on Monday. I charged the watch for a bit, to 19%, put it on and went to sleep. This morning I woke up with my watch drained again, and it didn't log any HR overnight. So this morning I gave my watch a full charge and put it on. However, the HR sensor isn't functioning, so I wanted to reboot it. I turn it off, only to find it was powered on again not too long after.

So I've now tried this a couple of times, which always does the same thing. I press the green check for "Power off?", screen goes black for about 30 seconds, then it shows the blue triangle logo for less than 10 seconds and goes directly to my watch face, without any user interaction. While the screen is black, I cannot manually turn it on, I just have to wait for it to turn on by itself.

I tried a couple of more things, but one of the more interesting is trying to measure stress it counts down from 30 and then tells me "Poor HR Signal; Check Watch Fit". However, the green light isn't visible. Turning off and on the HR measurement doesn't do anything. Doing a pulse ox measurement results in an error. It seems to drain about 6% of battery an hour, which is also quite abnormal. This is based on that it's now at 94%, roughly an hour after I fully charged it. I have rebooted it multiple times though, so that might influence it. Pressing the top button for a long time until the screen goes black does work, at least in the sense that it remains off after that. I then have to manually turn it on, as expected, shows the blue triangle logo (still no animation) and goes to the watch face, no functioning HR.

Last Tuesday afternoon it also had an extended period that it didn't log my HR, of say a little over 2 hours, while the fit of my watch hadn't changed as far as I know. Could be a completely unrelated issue, or could simply be that some clothing changed the fit or so, I don't know, but I thought I at least mention it.

As it currently stands, the device is fairly useless, other than telling time.

Update: Battery drain seems to settle towards 5% an hour. It's currently at 76%, four and a half hours after full charge.

  • Update: I tried entering service mode.

OHR test gives ILP: Test Pass; LED: Decrease Fixtur(...?); S2 ILP Done.
LED didn't do anything during the test.

Current: varies between -19000 and -33000; my estimated average is say -22000.

Edit and update: Watch was 19% battery yesterday evening, seems to be indeed 5 to 6 percent drain per hour. Did a factory reset, no avail. Decided to RMA the watch based on these issues.
