Controlling music from phone

I am trying to use the music control from the phone, but so far I cannot make it work.

I've set music provider to phone in settings. Venu 2 is connected to phone with Garmin Connect and BT connection is also visible (in quick actions). Music is playing on phone (also with playlist), but music controls doesn't react on Venu 2.

I have Samsung phone with A12 OS and using Poweramp player. I've read that this player have problems with Garmin watches so tried different players (Samsung Music, Pulsar), but still no success.

Can somebody help?

    I use same player though in a OnePlus 8T and somewhere in time my controls were not working, but also somehow started to work again.

    i use the swipe right shortcut in the Venu2 for music and believe i removed and re-added again, though don't remember if that made it.
    Can only add that from venu2 music shortcut i can control either Poweramp and/or Spotify depending on which one am using

    Check Connect and music player permissions on phone also

    Well it turns out, that problem was in disabled notifications in Garmin Connect. Since I don't want to use sending notifications of apps to Venu, I've disabled it.

    There is nowhere written in manual that Garmin uses phone notifications to control music - funny.
