Firmware version 11.14 messed up garmin pay

I got the firmware update this morning and after that when I tried to pay using Venu2s selecting second card my transaction was refused by the bank due to insufficient founds despite the fact that I had sufficient money on my bank account.

Later this evening I tried to pay for a bottle of water using the same card as this morning, payment was accepted, but instead of using the card I selected, payment was made with the first card I have it on Garmin pay. I know that because I got a notification from my bank that I made a payment.

It seems that no matter what card I select to pay, in fact the first card stored is used which is a big issue.

I never had problems paying with my Venu2s before.

Is anyone having the same issue like me?

UPDATE

I called the support and told them about my issue. They put me to remove all cards from wallet, remove the tracker, then add back the tracker and then the cards. I have the cards on garmin pay, but not on the tracker

  • I have an issue with Garmin Pay too. Scrolling down to select the second card does a half-scroll animation and re-selects the first card for a couple of times, then in my third or so attempt it scrolls down to the second card.

Similar behavior appears when selecting back the first card.

Also, in both screens there is a down arrow at the bottom (whereas there should be a down arrow in the first card and an up arrow in the second -and last- card).

  • I have also the same issue when scrolling to choose a card. But did you try to pay with it after the firmware update and did it work?

What I noticed is that when I select a card to pay, it doesn't use that card, but the previous card in line. Example I choose card number 2/second card and pays with card number 1/first card or if I choose 3rd card, it pays with second card

  • I have the same issues since the update to version 11.14

  • When you pay check if you paid with the card you selected, because in my case I don't pay with the card I choose, but with the previous card

  • You are correct.

I paid 3 times since the 11.14 update and every time I selected card B but card A was charged!

    This is outrageous!

  • If you contact the support and they tell you to remove cards, then remove tracker, then add tracker and cards back, you may find yourself in my situation where I did that and now I have cards on garmin connect, but not on my tracker.

What I suggest is to contact them and let them know about this issue. If we are more to write about this bug in the latest firmware update, maybe they will do something to fix it fast.

As for removing and adding everything back, that's your choice to follow or not their way of "fixing" this bug.

Now I am sorry I removed the cards from wallet because I think I could make it work by selecting card C to pay with card B for example.

  • "make it work by selecting card C to pay with card B" is quite outrageous for a device of this price range, isn't it?

Come on Garmin, don't you have a QA team?

  • I've removed the cards from my Venu 2s and added them back to the wallet using garmin connect.

In connect the cards show up as added to the device and available for garmin pay.

On the Venu 2s it says "Wallet is empty. Set up the wallet using the  garmin connect app." which I have done...

I've tried restarting the Venu 2s, it did not help.

At this point Garmin pay is not usable for me with the Venu 2s and firmware 11.14.

  • I agree is outrageous, but now I am in the point where I have to carry my wallet so I can pay. At least I could have paid before using an unorthodox method.

I don't have my phone set to make payments with it, now I have to use this method and I don't want to carry my wallet with me all the time. I can forget phone back home, but I never forgot my watch. So no pay meyhod for me this moment and I have a watch that just became an expensive pedometer.

  • Welcome to the club, I am joking of course is more an irony addressed to garmin and their developers and QA
