Airpod will not pair

I have a Venu2. I want to pair my Airpods Pro3 to the unit. They refuse to pair - instant "pairing failed". Not even a few seconds to think about it, instant rejection.

I have the pods paired with my phone and with my wife's phone. They work fine.

I have loaded about 30 tracks from my music library but cannot get to them until this pairing works.

pods are charged, case is charged, tracker is charged. Pod case pairing light goes white.

Can anyone say why it won't work?

You could switch BT off on your phone and try again.

Why would that help? Is there a part of this process that I don't understand? (Which is likely). I tried it anyway and it has no effect.

The Venu2 sees the Airpods in the discovered devices when I put them in pairing mode but instantly rejects pairing.

Fixed. Turned tracker off and left it for 1/2hr then turned it back on. Paired immediately. I had tried off/on yesterday and it made no difference but today it did. Who knows why.
