Changes made from version 9.17 to 10.12:

Fixed a bug where a WiFi download could cause a crash
Fixed a bug where a crash could occur when ending a strength workout on a jog step
Fixed a bug that could cause high battery drain

it was good to implement new functions in the next update, for example nightly HRV. It would be a good move.

Sleep detection still not good. Floors climbed - random. Breathe BRPM - random.

The only good thing is HR and GPS.

I've had multiple phone disconnected alerts since updating to 10.12 despite having the phone within a couple feet of my watch. This wasn't the case with 9.17.

How would one use it without TS or TR, though? Or let me put it this way: What would be the additional benefit compared to what is already there (like nightly stress readings) without the TS/TR integration?

Seem to be having issues with Golf, many shots are not registering. I am going to revert to 9.17 to see if there is a difference .

Well they could show the HRV "balance" like the cheap Polar Ignite series do.

Also part of a larger recovery ecosystem, though. Anyway, if you absolutely need Training Readiness + HRV, you can use Elite HRV. It's free, you only need a chest strap and your phone and one 2 minute reading a day.

Yep, used it a few years ago, bit of a hassle to whip out the HR Strap though, especially if you have varying waking hours. I stopped using it when I got the Ignite in 2019. Too bad it's such a poor overall sports watch with its weak GPS and lack of a lap button!

I wonder how well Elite HRV would work with Garmin's Elevate 4 sensor.

Garmin's Body Battery is nice and quite actionable but with all the talk about HRV nowadays I think they'll have to add it to future Venus, if not to the latest existing models.

EDIT - well that was quick, no RR intervals are broadcast it seems!
