Google Maps notifications Venu 2

Is it possible to control the frequency of Google Maps notifications on the watch? For example, if I am following directions that include the subway for example, I get notifications almost every minute just saying when the next train is going to depart. This information can be useful if I wanted to consult it, but definitely not as a notification with this frequency.

You can just enable/disable smart notifications ("all or nothing") for specific application in the Garmin Connect app.

So your options are:

Disable specific notifications on the application level (I don't use Google Maps so I'm not sure if it's possible to selectively choose which notifications it generates)
Install/configure some application to filter/block specific notifications - in your case notifications from Google Maps whose contain text "next train" - for example play.google.com/.../details
