How does Garmin know when I go to bed (even if I go before bedtime, just to read)?!

Sometimes I got to bed before my set bedtime.

The next morning Garmin seemed to know exactly when I went upstairs, even if I didn't go to sleep straight away.

For example, my bedtime is set for 22:00. If I go up to read at 20:53, it thinks I slept deeper from 20:53 till about 23:00 than I did for the rest of the night, even though I was really sat up and reading all that time! Also, it cannot have worked it out from my heartrate or position, because I would have been laid down just the same on the sofa before going up and I also often get up out of bed when I put my book down to go to the toilet too, so it's not that is because of my last movement of the day either! (I just thinks I was asleep during the time I was reading)

So how the he*% does it know when I go to upstairs! It's creepy!

  • Also, just in case you think it's because it knows stairs..., that's not it either, because I could be going upstairs to other rooms in the house... for example to read to or lay with the kids until they fall asleep and it won't know.

Also, this is not a one-off occurrence either. I notice it a lot!
