Training effect and recovery in Venu 2

I saw that this topic was discussed many times and the lack of these options was explained by the fact that the Venu series is not a typical sports series, but a lifstyle.

As for the first generation of Venu, I would agree, but Venu 2 finally received HIIT applications, a new application for strength training and the latest set of Elevate sensors.
For people like me and many others who don't want to sacrifice a beautiful OLED touch screen, there is no alternative whatsoever, which is why I believe these items should appear. If not in the full form in which these widgets are available in other series, then maybe in a simpler one.

  • Depends how much you want to spend.

I'm coming from Venu 2 and i loved it too but i wanted the extra metrics...after few months Garmin launched the Epix 2 and it's everything(and a lot more) that i needed.

Cost is high, that's true, but i should be ok with it for 2 years at least or maybe even more.

Maybe the new forerunners will have OLED too.

  • I still find it shameful that the Venu 2 doesn't have these basic features that exist in much cheaper competitive equipment, it's a real mistake on the part of Garmin!

  • I fully agree.

  • Agree as well - this is a big miss on Garmin's part.

To those that say "get a Fenix or Epix 2", understand some people don't want dimensionally much bulkier and heavier watches, particularly for day-to-day wear.

A "workaround" for some is IF you do have a device that does training effect/ recovery is that you upload your exercise to your phone, power on and sync your phone to your training/recovery device, device crunches numbers, sync back to your phone. No, it still won't show on your Venu2 but at least you are aware of the data on your phone.

  • Thats true. I wish garmin import this function.

  • Another workaround would be Runalyze--which is fantastic.
