Venu5 wrong steps record

Hello,

I just got a Venu2s.

Nice watch.

BUT the steps record is absolutely wrong. I owned previously a Withings watch. I checked the steps record versus GPS info and the record was perfectly correct.

In order to compare both watches I put them on my wrist during all days. And the Venu2s computes 100 % more than the other !

I can understand that small differences are correct between different watches but the Venu2s steps record is completely wrong. I don't know why . Garmin support just said : read the manual...Very useful!

I don't know if my problem s just linked with this watch or this product isn't reliable.

Without any explanation I will certainly return this watch

Best regards

  • You can enter your personal stride length in the app. That increases accuracy. You have to measure your stride length first, though. Slight smile

  • Sorry but your answer doesn't adress my issue.

The problem is the steps record. It's completely wrong. I can compare with two others connected watches,  and the Venu2s steps estimation is twice the other records and obviously the distance is also wrong !

If no solution is provided l will return the watche and choose another brand..

I was trusting à lot on Garmin because i was using several Garmin products with great satisfaction .

I was trusting on basic functions,  step and hearth, but...

    Very disappointed...

  • I find Garmin's step counter to be fairly accurate. Maybe there's something wrong with your watch in general? You could get a replacement before returning it. You could also try rebooting or resetting your watch.

Entering a custom stride length does improve the distance estimation, though.
