Venu 2s not showing distance for walking

I have a Venu 2s and have the following issue when looking at the synchronised data in the Garmin Connect app:

  • Steps are recorded and shown
  • Distance is not show, except indirectly when I’ve recorded an activity such as a run.

Is there a way to get the app to display distance data as it does for steps etc?

    If you tap on the steps in garmin connect it will show the distance as well as calories.  You can also select other watch faces that show the distance or add a distance field in one of Garmin’s watch faces that you create with the watch.
