Venu 2 - what's your charging time?

Hi,

could you please share your "charging experience" for Venu2?

It took 2 hours to charge my fully discharged Venu2 to 100%

  • 0%-60%, 150mAh, 1 hour
  • -> 86%, 215mAh, 1h 20m
  • -> 98%, 240mAh, 1h 30m, charging current 0.07A
  • -> 99%, 250mAh, 1h 50m, charging current less than 0.04A
  • -> 100%, 250mAh, 1h 55m

Charging peak 5.07V, 0.23A -> 1.17W.... hard to describe it as "fast charging"...

Real battery capacity 250mAh (minus power consumed by the watch itself during charging)

Battery capacity (%) displayed by the watch is correct:

150/60*100=250
215/86*100=252
240/98*100=245

Test above has been run after initial 3 charging cycles.
Charger used: Baseus 65W GaN Fast Charger (QC 4.0 3.0 USB TYPE-C PD), USB-A output 30W (the same results with any other charger).

Thanks.

  • About the same here - which is a lot faster than my Fenix6s

  • I've heard that they are charging faster than before

    I heard that too :) And it seems to be true that older Garmin watches were charged even slower - as you can see from twomasc's response

    If we consider that Fenix 6s battery rated capacity is 180mAh only.....

    that sounds like your battery may have low capacity

    Well, I hope someone else will post his/her measurement. In my case it's ~250mAh.

    Venu2 is my first Garmin watch, quite new model (and the new one in my case, bought new 3 weeks ago) so I thought it will be charging faster, or at least the same, than my old watch (see below).

    Anyway, something changed since my original post.
    I noticed higher charging speed in previous days, so I decided to run the same test (0-100%) once more.

    • 0%-47%, 115mAh, 30 minutes
    • -> 94%, 228mAh, 1h
    • -> 96%, 233mAh, 1h 5m
    • -> 98%, 239mAh, 1h 10m
    • -> 99%, 245mAh, 1h 15m
    • -> 99%, 248mAh, 1h 20m
    • -> 100%, 250mAh, 1h 25m

    The same charger, the same cable, ..... Charging time is 26% shorter now (1h55m vs 1h25m).

    The only change I know about is hard reset I did in between the first test (initial post) and this one.

    Charging peak of Venu2 in this test was 5.19V, 0.24A -> 1.25W - slightly better, but still 33% lower than my 2y8m old Amazfit GTR (5.19V, 0.36A -> 1.87W) - see pic below.
