Venu 2 and HRM Dual

Since HRM Pro isn't supported by Venu 2, I bought HRM Dual for better measuring my workouts, than HR readings from wirst.

So here's my question, I can't add HRM Dual in Garmin Connect, I can only pair it with watch. Settings/Sensors/Add new.

But after it, how can I know, from where the watch takes heart rate measurement? Is there any icon or something? I did one walk/run workout, but there was no indicator - whether heart rate is read from wirst or from chest.

Additionally, there's also no info about it in Garmin Connect workout details.

Any idea?

You may also simply turn off the wrist based heart rate monitor to verify that the HRM-Dual is providing heart rate during activities.

I paired it with the watch directly as well. When starting an activity (I use it for Nordic walking) there is a notification like „hrm strap connected“ on the watch

Thank you for answer, I see this message also, but, then, I don't know if it's still connected. It may disconnect, so I would like to have a possibility of verify, what is the source of measurements, strap or optical sensor in watch.

Also, 0 notifications in workout data about the source of HR measurement. It's a little bit weird.

Unfortunately there isn’t any further confirmation

i think you have to trust

from my experience I have to say that within around a year of usage I haven’t seen any indication that it isn’t working as intended

You could do something that doesn't require you to actually wear the watch on your wrist (like a simple walk), and record the activity with your watch in your jacket pocket.

If you peek under the watch, when OHR is being used in an activity, the green lights should be on solid. If you're connected to external HR, the lights will be off or blinking.

Ok, thank you guys for help. While doing activity, I turn off the wirst based HRM.

But let me ask one more question, is there possibility to have continous monitoring from the strap beside activity? Eg., I would like to HRM from strap 24h, I know that I can do it with other applications, but can I have it done with Garmin Connect and can I have Venu 2 displaying and saving HRM from strap?

Another question for HRM Dual users, do you wash your strap after every single use?

Seensoul the HRM-Dual may only record heart rate while an activity is being recorded on the watch or in a 3rd party app on your phone.
