Venu 2 Not Requesting Pay Passcode

I set up my bank card with my Venu 2 last night. Everything worked fine and I was prompted for a passcode when accessing the card. This AM, no passcode prompt. I can swipe from the watchface straight to the card (I have "pay" set as my swipe shortcut). Is this expected?

Edit: Seems its "by design" until the watch is removed from the wrist. Makes sense.

My understanding is you only have to put it in once a day as long as it’s on the wrist.
