Activity tracking query

I recently purchased the Venu 2 and gone for a few different walks and the activity tracking worked great tracking everything well.

I recently went for a walk that I planned on my Komoot app to follow on my phone but I had a problem with the activity tracking on my Venu 2, it was randomly starting tracking at different times of the walk and then stop and then restart the tracking.

On a 17mile walk it probably tracked 7 or 8 different times and other times not tracked at all which is very frustrating

Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know what would cause this, is it because I am running the Komoot app on my phone?

Thanks

  • No, there shouldn’t be any connection between the app and your watch other then it will relay notifications to the watch.  Sounds like you have auto activity start turned on.  This starts registering a walk after a certain number of minutes you specify under device settings in the connect app and then “activity tracking”.  So if you stop for a bit to drink some water etc it will stop and save that session and the count down will start again once you start walking..

Check your auto activity start by going into the connect app, device, activity tracking and check your “auto activity start” settings.  Personally I have mine turned off.  It’s not very useful unless maybe out strolling or shopping and want to know how far you’ve gone during that time, or how many steps you have taken.

In the future, start the walking activity manually by pressing the A button and tapping on Walk

  • I experience the same issue. I understand if I stop for a while, but thiis is not often the case. I go for a dog walk with no pauses and it seems to randomly stop and then start again 5 mins later. What is the criteria for automatically stoping an activity?
