Heart rate and sleep accuracy issues after update

What happened after this update garmin? I did a strength training workout very similar to what I normally do and my heart rate was consistently low, wasn’t picking up peaks, and just didn’t seem accurate. Sleep tracking has seemed off too, with drastically way too much awake time. Feel like I’m wearing a whoop again. Please go back to the last update.

  • While i can't say too much about HR as i don't/didn't experience, frequently, similar issues, take in mind that 1 hour, or a bit more, awake time during a good night is normal.
When i tried, for the first time, the fitbit and saw the huge amount of awake time i was surprised and i don't see any reason to have it recorded when it's just a minute or two, here and there, and i don't remember anything about it but that's how it should be and Garmin is trying to improve it's tracking to match more with the "reality".

  • Yeah, same problems for me..lower HR readings (was 10-20lower when running) and sleep tracking 4 days without REM phase (lol). Only difference for me is that it shows less awake time than it should..wasnt even showing one when I made 40steps that night :D. Well and than my half calories walk problems..but that started even before v8.11 sw update. Sadly no official response on forums on these issues so far

EDIT: Sleep reading is way better for me after second night. Seems like first night after every factory reset is just plain bad. Today it seems much more accurate in terms of REM,awake time etc. So this was maybe tied to first night after factory reset.

Weird is that my HR and calories count was too okay in last 2 days. But dont know why..because hard reset didnt help before (tried it 2-3times before without success). So dunno whats different after this particular factory reset.

  • I haven't noticed an issue with heart rate so far, but sleep tracking is really off for me since the update. One night I went to sleep at 11:30 and woke up at 7:30, but the watch showed sleep from 5:30-7:30 only... And most nights it's either showing me as sleeping while I was watching tv on the couch. Very disappointing.

  • same issue here. Is Garmin aware of this? And is there a planed solution? I just got my Venu 2s and can still return it, thus it would be great to know if a fix is near and if I should keep my watch

  • Same issue, heart rate down about 20bpm in peak. Along with that sleep tracking is now random and it thinks my heart rate is often higher when asleep than when I swim or run!
