Can not see the watch face in bright sunlight after 8.11 update

I thought this was just a beta problem for me but it is not. Using auto brightness I can no longer see the watch in bright sunlight. If I use manual brightness 100% I can see the face just fine. Any advice Garmin-Kevin or do I need to call support?

i have the same issue. Also, the auto brightness and Always on display its not worked since i update to 8.11. id like to know if this problems will be fixed with a software update, or i have to ask for remplacement.

I have had oddly inconsistent results since I posted the above. Sometimes I can see the face in sunlight sometimes I can not.

Maybe an obvious question, is the watch face fully visible. The ambient sensor seems to be on the side of the watch nearest my sleeve. If it’s partially covered the screen stays dim. When it’s fully out the watch brightens up as it should.

Hmmm.... Actually that was not obvious to me ... Maybe that is it. I will experiment with that next time I go outside.

I have the same issue since the software update. Any advice on what to do? Not sure what the point of wearing a watch that I cannot see the time or progress whilst on an activity is..

This problem actually went away for me with a hard reset (hold the b button till the watch turns off).
