Behavior after reverting back to 5.38

I just reverted back to 5.38 after being disappointed with the Beta update. When selecting Software Update directly from the watch, I get the spinning circles and then it just returns with no message. Is this normal or should it indicate that no new updates exist? (I thought it would indicate that previously but don’t recall for certain) Also, when setting up and testing the WiFi connection from Garmin Connect, it reboots the watch when I choose test network and then indicates that something went wrong even though I’m certain that the password is correct. Any ideas? I’m now wonder if I need to return the watch and exchange it. I’ve already reset to factory defaults. Thank you.

Returning watch. I would not recommend applying the Beta update. I stepped through the upgrade / revert process several times now and the revert process is clearly problematic.

I just confirmed that when you attempt to test network connection, it reboots the watch.

The revert process appears to be broken. I went through the update process once again and it worked perfectly. The WiFi network test would work as expected and everything looks good. After following the revert process back to 5.38, the watch will reboot every time I test the WiFi network connection. Unless Garmin has a solution for this, I’ll have no choice but to return the watch.

I also have my watch rebooting when I try to add a wifi network after backing out the beta. Garmin-Kevin - any advice? Will this correct itself when 8.05 gets released from beta?

All,

We have a new software update releasing today to 20% of users. This will be rolled out to 100% by Friday if there are no issues reported. This update does contain a Wi-Fi update. Please sync your watch (using the Garmin Connect mobile app or Garmin Express, not the Wi-Fi sync method on the watch) multiple times over the next few days to check for updates.

Happy to report that the new release did indeed fix my wifi issue.

All is good. I ended exchanging my Venu 2 for another one. The 8.11 upgrade went smoothly and I haven’t noticed any issues thus far. Thanks.

Hi, I actually just went back to 5.38 after the update of Friday (this caused a major bug, screen was black, even though the watch was responding to the buttons and was connected through the app). This means however that I cannot use the Wi-Fi (my watch reboots as soon as I try to connect to WiFi through the app).
