Total calories, again ... But different case, please read.

Hi All,

Before I decided to open this topic, I've studied a lot about my Garmin since I've got it, it's been for now 2 months. So far I love my Venu 2, it does everything that I expected, even more. I'm trying the learn it as much as I can and figure out how does it work, to get as much as possible accurate data. It's my first smart/sports watch but I have to say it changes my way of training for more efficiency since day 1.

But anyway, I've got a question regarding the total/active calories, I'm trying now to figure out if my total calories are accurate. I (think) know how Garmin separates total/active and resting calories, and how they are calculated. I know what is the difference between them and that not all calories burned during the activity are the active ones, etc.

My issue is about total calories during the day, incl. calories from the activity and resting one. I keep tracking what I'm eating, weigh the food, prepare my meals in advance and track them in the app, so I really know how many kcal I eat daily.

1) Let's say my food kcal average is 3200kcl/day- 22400kcal/weekly

2) The total calories which I burn according to the Venu are 3000kcal/ day-21000kcal/weekly.

In that example, I'm on the caloric food surplus of 200kcal/day /weekly 1400kcal. So I can't understand how I was able to lose the weight of around 0,5kg ( So is the proper right amount of kilograms lost to the calories eaten if I would be on the caloric deficit and my goal would be to lose weight). This is physically not possible to lose the weight being on the calories surplus. I admit only that my goal is, for now, to keep the weight steady.

I've tried to find a similar topic, but most people have the opposite way issue ( they complain that Garmin shows them too much-burned calories)

I've set up correctly all the personal details like b.date, age, gender, weight, etc. I set up a proper activity class, however, Garmin says it's not working for Venu 2, but just in case I set it up. I use the HRM Pro heart strip to have more accurate data, and sometimes during the activity, I cant wear the watch.

I know the Garmin says it can be about a 10% accuracy difference, however, people mostly say that watch is more accurate, especially using the HR strip. I know im fit for this accuracy difference but I would like to get as much as possible correct data as I really put attention to these numbers.
Is there anything I'm doing/calculating wrong? Can maybe anyone clear more this for me?

Thanks in advance! Have a good day!
