Hi,
Just switched from a 3 year old Samsung Galaxy Watch to the Venu 2. I finally got fed up of the heart rate monitor being useless on the Galaxy Watch and as much as I loved the swivel head and overall design, it felt time to get something that provided the health metrics I was seeking, along with better activity integration.
Anyway, one thing I am trying to work out is when data actually gets synced. I have tried researching this and I could not find anything conclusive, although I guess it could be my poor searching capabilites. So my understanding is the watch syncs with my Galaxy phone via Bluetooth. Everything seems in order there and when I open Garmin Connect I can see step counter etc. showing the same values as the watch. However, if I drill into one of these e.g. steps, the data often only shows up to a certain point in time, perhaps hours beforehand.
So, I assumed that the detailed data comes from the Garmin servers and Gamin Connect only syncs with this periodically, which would make sense. So, I went seeking how often this might be set to in the app and watch but have not been able to find anything. I can see manually refreshing from the watch section of the app screen and that seems to work but curious as to when this happens automatically?
While I am here I also have a couple of more questions
On Samsung Health it would automatically detect sleep periods i.e. It could sometimes identify a period before going to bed as one section and then me being awake to go to bed and then the actual sleep time. Seems the Garmin can also incorrectly class a period of inactivity as being asleep, amusingly deep sleep even though when I am actually asleep it hardly records any as deep. Anyway, on Samsung Health I could actually remove these erroneous entries. I cannot see any way to deal with this in Garmin?
I appreciate the Galaxy Watch is always going to integrate with my Galaxy phone more than the Garmin, but is there any way to have do not disturb synced across the two devices? I could not find a way.
Overall I love the watch and apart from missing the swivel on the outside and some minor niggles I certainly feel I made the right choice. I was holding out for another Galaxy Watch which had decent battery life but newer models were simply getting worse.
Thanks in advance for any help
Matt
