Thinking of buying Garmin Venu 2

Hi all,

I am new here and with all Garmin products.

I found Venu 2 as a new smartwach from Garmin. I like modern design and UI ( which is only Venu2 series).

Searching for a health tracking ( heart rate, SpO2, sleep tracking and similar). Not so much in training, running.

How is Venu 2 ? Is is stable, how frequent and for how long updates will be available ?

Thanks, any good information is welcome :)

  • I love Garmin watches.  First I had the Venu SQ, now the Venu 2S.  It is very good with heart rate, steps, respiration, sleep, so-so with SP02, it is frequently low but if I press it down on my watch when taking a “snapshot” it does much better.  Garmin Connect is a good app.

Seems like there are a few updates a year maybe.

  • Well, it's not so easy to get honest info here, don't forget that this is Garmin forum and it's under the care of company.
From my experience with Venu 2:
    - the SpO2 is usually way too low,
    - sleep tracking is inaccurate. Don't know why.

He's showing, that Fitbit gear is a way more accurate than Garnin when it comes to health tracking.

I didn't checked it, but I'll order FItbit Sense this week and compare accuracy to Venu 2. If my tests show, that FitBit performs better in health tracking, I'll return Venu 2.

  • Hi, thanks. I think the purpose of the forum is to get all the informations about the products, good or bad ones.

Fitbit Sense is very good yes. I already saw that videos, every review is different. Heh.

Don't know what to do :)

  • Where are you from?

I'm asking because the best way is to buy Venu 2 and Sense and compare it in real life and you then may decide what's best for you. Maybe you can purchase watches from a store with return possibility?

VIdeos on the net are one thing, frequently real life shows big diferences

  • I am from Croatia. I can buy them from a store, but not sure if return possibility is an option (only if it is broken I think)

Since Croatia is a member of the European Union, you have a right of return of at least 14 days for all purchases made ONLINE. Some dealers also voluntarily offer more. So you can buy 2 products ONLINE, and try them out. Then you can return one of them. You do not have to give a reason.
Only if the product suffers from your use during this time, the dealer is not entitled to refund the entire purchase price. In this case he can keep a part of the price. However, he must take the item back.

This rule applies ONLY to ONLINE purchases.

  • If you're from Croatia, then check amazon.de, they have great return policy with 0 problems.

  • Ray Maker has some great videos on YouTube comparing the devices.  He compares the Venu 2 to a HR chest strap and a pedometer and find it’s very accurate and the GPS is one of the best out there.  I have no issues at all with the sleep tracking, it’s spot on for me though we’re not all the same.  The Quantified Scientist also has videos comparing sleep tracking with these devices and finds the 2 to be just as good or very close to the fit bit for sleep tracking.

They’re both good watches and they both have great apps.  I returned my Fitbit because found the HR was always lagging behind while I was on a fast walk.  I don’t know if they fixed it but the FitBit you had to have an exact watch face to get an SP02 reading.  I hate that they make you pay monthly for information that should be free since you bought the watch.

They’re both good I do like the body battery and stress scores and FitBit doesn’t have those.

    Good luck either way!

  • This is a user forum run on the Garmin website and here and there a garmin tech person will help out.  But for the most part it is just end users looking for help.  I have never seen a comment removed here so I don’t think it’s accurate to say it’s not easy to get honest info here.  Also forums are largely for people who are having problems so you will get more of what’s wrong with a device, then what’s right with a device.

  • Hi, yes, I will check it for sure. When I decide which one to buy :P
