Strength Training Inaccuracy

Hi Everyone,

I've recently got a new Venu 2. While the watch is great, I find it very inaccurate while doing strength training. I took it to the gym a few times and I have three remarks on the watch, hopefully, someone can help me with that.

1. The sets auto-detection is way off. Sometimes it wouldn't start a set or start it after doing lots of reps and sometimes it doesn't enter the rest mode after the set is over.
2. Even if I start the sets manually, the rep count isn't always accurate, sometimes it doesn't even count at all.
3. On the connect app, I found out that it got all the workouts wrong and I have to adjust them manually on the app. It detected shoulder press as bench press, shrugs as squats and it didn't even detect a rear delt exercise I did (a pretty standard one).

Did anyone face a similar issue or know how I can make it work better? And, would the watch learn from the manual adjustments I did, and next time I do the same exercises, would it detect them correctly?

  • Yes, similar here..
Even with Garmin sport watch, like FR 945, not accurate on strength training.

Best advice, you set everything manually when strength training, start set, put reps, and put weight you lifting.

Because the watch can't recognize exercise type correctly, you must edit on app some exercise you did, to know target muscle correctly.

I think, strength mode more to help how much calories burn when gym session, even for me the estimate calories burn was too high.

  • Thanks for your feedback. Yes, I think this is the only way, I did this today via the connect app after the workout.
