Update map to add missing sections of route during run/walks?

Activity: outdoor walking:

My Venu 2 recognizes that I'm walking without having to "start" an activity  and sometimes captures the full activity accurately, but other times seems to not recognized this until I'm 1-2 km in or stops measuring when I'm a few km from the end of my route.   Afterwards, the record of this activity is incorrect - the map doesn't show the full distance covered and the time is short.    I know Garmin has functionality to allow me to trim activities from the front and back end - but is there a way to expand the activity for more accuracy? e.g. is there anyway to manually correct the route that that was actually covered? It would seem to be possible to at least adjust this to capture heart rate  and other stats that were being collected, even if the map can't be corrected.....

  • Hi, instead of using auto track, I’d manually start the activity.  You have to walk for a certain number of minutes (that you set up in Connect) for auto track to start, then if you pause or stop, it quits recording and starts up again as a whole new activity.  Honestly I’ve just turned it off and always start a manual activity when I go out to do something like take a walk etc.

  • Thanks CindiL, I will probably have to do that. I live in a fairly northern climate and accessing the device on my wrist under the many bulky layers that are required when going out in sub-zero temps made the auto track appealing... thanks for your help.
