Will the venu 2 get the call app of the venu 2 plus??

Hello guys wouldn't be great if the venu 2 got them making phone calls applications of the venu 2 plus.

And they always on call screen of the newest model that will be awesome!!

  • I think its a hardware upgrade to add the speaker capabilities so I don’t see that as an option since the Venu 2 doesn’t have a microphone or speaker.

  • I don't think it's a hardware... I hade smartwatch without speaker that could do calls and have call screen on during a call...I would like to keep my phone in my pocket more and this option will be Great...

It will make the watch move closer to the smartwatch category...

But a call could be performed by bluetooth and it would be great to see on Venu 2 app to dial a contact or a number, with auto loudspeaker on in phone. You choose contact or dial a number, click dial (on watch), and your phone calls choosen contact, turns on loudspeaker.

If it would not be Garmin, we would have this. But it's Garmin, and they aren't so cool for old customers as I see.

There is definitely a hardware difference ... the Venu 2 doesn't have a microphone or speaker.

According to Ray Maker, some of the new software features will be retrofitted into the Venu 2.

    It would be wonderful

  • It's much more simple...a call app on the venu 2 would either open your phone call app with either speaker, Bluetooth headset, or the normal way.

Because I always have Bluetooth earbuds on it would be very easy and much more  "smart"watchier for my use!!

  • Good news...because it was silly to have to take the phone out to make a call or send a message on a "smartwatch"...if you get me...

  • Yes there are hardware differences in the sense that you need to have a microphone and speaker to do the actual phone (the talking with each other part of the call) call with the watch.

But to initiate the actual dialing on the phone through the watch may perhaps only be a software limitation.

It is possible to answer with the watch but only talk through the phone and you can see the caller displayed on the watch so there are today a possibility to see the contacts, it should be possible to have access to the contact list on the watch to accomplish a phone call without picking up the phone. Useful for instance with a headset/hands-free.

  • Great idea! Would be awesome.
