Built-in watch faces, active faces

OK, got my Venu 2 set up and want to change the watch face. I'm very familiar with this procedure in general since I've had various Connect IQ watch faces on my Forerunner 645. But I was really disappointed in the few watch faces that are initially available on the Venu 2 -- really ugly IMO, especially on a large screen.

But my main question is where are the "active" watch face selections? It seems like they'd at least pre-install the one that's in the picture on the box. Is there something I have to set in order for this to show up? And in general, where can I get more of these to look at? Are they on the Connect IQ store mixed in with all the others?

A minor issue I'm sure, but I'd hate to show this watch to someone with any of the built-in watch faces that I see right now.

  • I actually deleted most of the ones that came with the watch, I agree they were pretty ugly.  The ones you’re referring to are not in the IQ store but on the watch.  I created my own with their own special data fields that I picked.  There are about 20 choices to create on the watch itself with nature, landscape and abstract choices.   There are thousands in the IQ store, most with a small fee, some free.    To download watch faces you can find them under appearance in the app and this will bring up the IQ store.

Are you referring to the lightening watch face?  You can add it in to the create your own on the watch itself (not in the app).  What do you men by “active” watch faces?  Do you mean the live watch faces?

Anyways, I created a YouTube video on how to use the Venu 2 / 2S.

https://youtu.be/JflXWax4tO8  if go to 5:33 minutes that’s where I go over creating your own watch face, maybe that will help.

  • Thanks. Like I said, I've installed a number of Connect IQ watch faces on my F645 but I wasn't sure how the new "active" or "live" ones fit in and now see that they are implemented as backgrounds that I can customize. So I might take it from there or maybe go back to one of the familiar ones that I've used before. Since I grew up before there were such things as digital watches, I've always been more of an analog watch face person :-).
