Bluetooth connection with phone keeps dropping

Hi,

I just got the Garmin Venu 2 watch and paired it to my phone. Initial pairing works fine, however when I go for a run with bluetooth earpieces connected to the watch, when I return the watch doesn't connect to the phone automatically. I removed the watch multiple times from my phone and added it manually again. When I leave the bluetooth range and come back, the automatic connection still doesn't work. I need tot manually remove and add the watch again to the Garmin connect app. This is terrible for a watch that costs €300+.

I have the latest Garmin connect Update on my Galaxy S8 (4.49.1) and also the latest software on my Venu 2 (5.33).

How can I solve this issue?

  • When you pair the watch you are letting the watch find the phone and pair right?  Make sure you do it that way.

When this happens if you go into the control screen is the bluetooth and sync icons lit or grayed out?

Also you shouldn’t have to remove the watch from the Garmin Connect app.  One the rare occasion that happens to me, I turn bluetooth on and off on my phone and it usually reconnects.

  • Also check that your Galaxy phone isn't killing Connect, and that Connect is allowed to run in the background.
