When I'm exercising my heart rate seems suspiciously low.

When I'm exercising my heart rate seems suspiciously low so I take the watch off, I put it back on and I'm at 125bpm, 20sec later I'm already down to 65bpm. Cleaned the sensor multiple times already, turned the watch off and on, its up-to-date. It's not super tight around my wrist but not lose either, it's always in contact with my skin. Any fixes for this issue or is the watch broken?

I've seen the website where it says weightlifting and rowing, etc can cause problems but it also happens when walking for example, when I go for a good walk my heart rate would be around 115bpm but sometimes it stays around 60bpm the whole walk.

Thanks.

  • 1st Picture is when I'm weightlifting

2nd Picture is after I took the watch off and put it back on (feels like a right bpm)

3rd Picture is 20secs after taking the watch off and putting it back on

  • I'm also chasing down some HR issues with this watch and will post something in a day or two. But one thing I'd like to know is if you are seeing this when you are doing an actual activity on the watch or when you are just wearing it as usual?

  • That definitely doesn’t seem normal.  Mine doesn’t ever do that.  Maybe a faulty watch?  I do tighten my watch before I start an activity like elliptical etc.

  • I usually notice it when I'm doing an activity, or maybe that's just because I pay attention to my heart rate then. Sometimes when I'm sitting in the sofa, not doing anything it's at like 36bpm which seems abit off as well

  • I never had it tho, bought it last June and it started about 1-2 months ago

  • have you tried a hard reset?

To perform a hard reset, press and hold the power button on your watch.  Ignore the "Power Off" question and the assistance alert (if applicable) on your watch, just continue holding the power button pressed down until the screen goes blank.  Once this occurs, you may release the button.  Allow the watch to sit powered off for a few seconds, then you may power it back on by pressing and releasing the power button.

  • Haven't tried that yet. Do I keep all my settings then? Bought a Polar H9 and paired it with my watch

  • Yes it will keep all your settings.  Just think of it like a re-boot.  It clears out the temporary memory but not your settings.

  • I experience a similar problem. v8.11, sensor center 16.03:
Suddenly, one day it takes incorrectly heart rate readings during activity and I've tried a lot of things: remove it, dry it, stop activity, hard reset... one day, at some point, it returns to normal.

There seems to be a problem with the sensors. It seems to become unstable, but I haven't figured out what it is that allows them to work properly again.
Hard reset, the blood of a virgin, a conjunction of stars... I've actually had this problem for the past few months and it's not something I can easily explain to customer support... but it happens all the time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
