Battery Drain on Venu 2 - PulseOx

Former Member
Former Member

Have the watch just 1 week.
My setup:

NO notifications
NO music
NO pay
NO always on display
All other set to minimum
Standard watch face

1 hour/day GPS

1 Indoor activity 1 hr/day

When PulseOx off: max 4 days battery life (not even used as smart watch as you can see from settings

PulsOx night: From fully charged to dead 12-14 hours

PulseOx day: From fully charged to dead in 6-8 hours

That's ridiculous for a watch of this price. As comparison: my Polar Vantage V Titan has 12 days battery life with all trackings on.

Contacted Garmin support in Malaysia - they have no idea about the watch, no help, no advises. Just: send the watch for battery check. But when PulseOx drains like this, it's not mainly the battery, it's a rubbish software/ hardware setup. The (Garmin official) shop in Malaysia refused to take the watch back. I once followed the Garmin service suggestion to send the watch (Fenix 5X Plus Titan, erratic heart rate). The watch was new and I got a used, refurbished watch back as replacement - that's more cheating than service.

Beside this, my Garmin Express connects to Mainland China. I just "escaped" from there and really don't like to be forced to connect to there. There is no Malaysia connection and I also can't choose a different connection as Garmin has a ridiculous regional policy.

All in all, absolutely disappointed with the watch. Anybody any ideas how to fix these issues?

I have returned the watch to Garmin and received a replacement watch. With same settings my hourly drain is now 0.4% and after 2 days the watch still on 74% If it continues like this, it's okay.

  • Hi All, I'm frustrated with my Venu 2's battery drain too.

I contacted the U.S. support (Q#:1002457, Q#:1002458), and they offered a replacement refurbished watch for $140 + tax because my warranty expired 6 months ago.
This is not right, considering how many of us experience the issue.

For the past few months, when mine gets to around ~35% left, then within half an hour or so I get a low battery warning and when I go check the status it shows 0% and it gets turned off shortly.

I updated to v13.14, as advised by the Support, but the issue still persists.
