Fade-in animation is dangerous! Please let us turn it off

Hi. Would like to hear Garmin's opinion regarding that.

I find the fade-in animation of the watch clock very very slow and dangerous when running/hiking.

I find myself staring at my watch for 1-2 seconds until I see the time and data I am looking for. This is super dangerous when running in cities or when hiking.

Please let us turn it off!

I don't see what it is good for, I guess most of the people want the clock to appear immediately.

I am feeling stupid turning the watch towards me then waiting for 1 second to see the time, even when not running.

Waiting to hear from you all and Garmin, thanks!

  • I personally keep the screen always on during training. It hits the battery, of course, but I find it much better than having to wait for the fade in screen that sometimes may also fails to appear forcing you to repeat the gesture. If you keep the background in black the amoled screen doesn't use up too much battery, after all, so give it a try
