Heart rate during cardio selection

So I’ve got a new venu 2 and I notice if i select ride or run / walk my heart rate seems fairly accurate goes from 80s to 150-60s

However if I pick cardio and say walk on a treadmill I’m getting readings of 170-220 highly inaccurate, the treadmill heart connector shows me at around 80-90 for the same activity ? Any reason why cardio selection is so wrong

  • Our fitness watches will have different algorithms used for different activity profiles.  These algorithms are used to filter out movement of the arm that could contribute to inaccurate readings.  For best results, please use the correct activity profile for your activity (i.e. use the "Treadmill" activity profile when recording a treadmill activity.

  • Pretty stupid if you ask me, the hand isn’t even moving when on the treadmill definitely is a bug that needs fixing, if I’m playing indoor soccer I’d pick cardio as you don’t have an indoor sport option then it will show my heart rate at 250 which is ridiculous

  • Hi

This is a very interesting comment from you! What do you suggest I use as a base for squash then? I used cardio as base, which led me to this thread whilst searching for better options, because HR seemed very low and no steps seems to be recorded. Despite being pretty sure overall steps are counted during the activity on the watch.
