Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Venu 2 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Venu2_518Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file into the \GARMIN directory of the device. Place the GUP370500.GCD and D853500.zip files into the \GARMIN\RemoteSW directory on the device.
  3. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  4. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE_467.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE_467.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • I can confirm missing translation.
    But other work well.

  • Did you report your feedback to the email in the Notes section above?  If not, please do, they are very responsive to feedback that is given to them that way.

  • Well... I reported my issue that way and got no response :(. I also reported it here (watch will not consistently go to high power when lifting wrist or double tapping face) and it seems like maybe it was just me so maybe they only respond to issues reported by multiples.

  • Try a simple reboot…. Hold the top button in for about 15 seconds (until the watch switches off).  Restart the watch. This worked for me when my battery was draining super fast.

  • Watch freezes on the always on display (pressing the top button to start an activity unfreezes it).

Also there is some lagging in the transition between screens that was not present on the previous version.

Other than that, seems to be stable so far

  • Couple things I really like:

Broadcasting HR over BLE is a big one and I've been waiting for this since day 1.  Don't take this away!!

While broadcasting HR I can now swipe back to the watch face.  Thank you, I never understood why it was necessary to lock me into the HR screen before.

The only major bug I've noticed is when I receive a phone call (iPhone 8 plus on iOS 15)  the green answer call button gets stuck on the watch screen for some time.  Re-starting makes it go away, otherwise the icon remains on the watch screen for a random amount of time.  This seems to happen every time, I have tried going into a menu or activity but when I go back to the watch face the icon is still there.

  • Yes, I experienced this yesterday. I was out in the daylight and flicked my wrist. Display was on but very dim. Took a few seconds to come to full brightness. I had previously been on 4.67, and hadn't changed any settings.

  • Can't install this beta from France it seems, nothing happen when I put the files.

  • Battery life great before 4.67

    Bad with 4.67

    Extremly bad with 5.18

    Please fix this!!!
