is venu 2 really that bad?

I see a number of complaints here about venu 2, is it only because of the update? Aren't Garmin testing it in their device before releasing it?

Is the default out of the box Garmin software for venu 2 stable and usable? if yes, might it be a good idea not to download the update just yet until all these issues coming up from version 4.67?

Is this device really that bad? or only for few users? I've seen some reviews in youtube and they are all positive and that makes me excited to own one.

  • I love the Venu 2.  It worked great up until this update. I'm a little uneasy with it right now doing this already. It automatically updated on mine or I would have waited.  They only thing I would say to know about it is the battery life is not as long as advertised.  I don't know where they come up with these numbers.  I'm assuming if you don't use anything on it except as a watch you could but the whole point is to use the sensors.  However, I still get about 4 days on one charge using everything with pulse ox on only during sleep times.

If you're using the GPS on daily basis then i think it seems just fine. Although 4 days seems far from marketed 11 days. I tried using Huawei GT2e before for the reason that the battery can last up to 14 days, it did last 14 days as advertised with most sensors on. And that's the main consideration i had with Venu 2, 11 days looks almost as good.

  • I am extremely satisfied with my Venu 2 until the last update.
But I believe Garmin will solve minor problems in firmware 4.67.
I only have one minor issue in version 4.67 and that is the Wi-Fi issue.

Everything else works properly and without problems, and the battery life is fine.

That is good to know. I also think it might have been a bad software update. I hope they fix it soon.

  • well, besides new bugs in the latest firmware update, there were quite some issues reported before.... (some users have reported freezes and crashes, battery drains, GPS issues, other irregularities).  not what's resolved yet....

but the rather buggy firmware/unfinished software is just one part of the problem.

a lot of users are disappointed by certain developer decisions (especially regarding what features the Venu2 gets or gets not, eventhough it would be capable).

personally, this is my first wearable (smart/sportwatch). but after using it for more than a month now, i have to say that I would return it if i still could!
