HR in app not matching my run

I just ran and my HR on the watch hit 155- alarm when off and everything.  When it synced on my phone, it shows a daily high of 143.  Am I misinterpreting something- is that only an average high? That seems like a fairly big discrepancy.  I don't care too much about accuracy since I just try to improve my relative personal best.  I care more about consistency between the device and the app.  It should at least capture exactly what the watch recorded.  Am I missing something?

Also, separate subject- but is anyone able to see each song in their Amazon Music Playlist (Venu 2?)  My playlist syncs over fine but I can only see one song at a time. No list to scroll. It's frustrating since I have a lot of songs. I can see each of my (non-Amazon) songs in the MY MUSIC folder that I synced with Windows Media Player.

  • Hello .  Please see the FAQ below for information on your HR question:

I Am Seeing Two Different High Heart Rate Values in Garmin Connect

As for your question about Amazon Music playlists, the Amazon Music app does not support any way to view the specific songs a user has included in any given playlist.  I like to just turn on shuffle and repeat and let it surprise me!

  • Thanks Kevin. I fear you are right and this is very disappointing.  If I want to be surprised, I will play the lottery.  When I pay nearly $400 (in 2021) I don't think it is asking too much to be able to see the LIST of songs on my playLIST.  You might only have a few- I have many.  During different parts of my workout, I prefer different songs.  So now I have to scroll through 50 songs  >|  just to get to the one (1) I want?  This is simply not reasonable or efficient.  I guess they want you to buy the song so you can then import as MP3- then I can see it under My Music. It's too bad. Hopefully this gets fixed but it probably won't as I suspect this is fully  intentional.

  •  does any other music app support this on the VENU2?

I did not manage to do this with the Spotify app...

  • No.  The only two (2) apps I know of that are supported on the Venu 2 are Amazon and Spotify.  They lock their music within their ecosystem- special file type/ext.  You can unlock it buy purchasing the song.  If you do this, you can download the MP3 e.g., to Windows Media Player- then sync that playlist to the Venu 2 and you will see the entire playLIST. It's not ideal but it seems to be by design- and not a simple oversight.

IMO this strategy does not make a lot of sense because when I use the same app on the PC, I can see the list.  I guess they want you online, in the app.  Personally, I think Amazon music would be much better served to create an amazing musical interface experience for it's venture with Garmin.  People would rave about it and use it more.  As is, they are basically just aggravating people by limiting our access to what we can view on our playlists.  Who wants to guess at which song is next whilst running?  Especially if it is a long list of 30-50 songs. It drastically limits our control over our own music. If I had to guess, I believe this falls more on Amazon, then it does Garmin. The lists work in the My Music folder in the Venu 2.  Unless you buy it, you simply cannot get the "protected" Amazon or Spotify files into My Music folder.

  • Well, there seems to be support for DEEZER but as I am not using this service, I cannot comment on the usability of it's Garmin app....

In Spotify there is no option to "buy a single song".

You just get a premium subscription and are.then able to select and listen to specific songs or albums or playlists, as well as store those offline or on connected devices.....

Not sure if this limitation we observe on the VENU2 are based on a developer decision on Amazon& Spotify side or if it is related to a limitation of the watch software or ....?

    can you please explain?

  • Yes, I forgot about DEEZER, but it's probably the same drill.  I'm sure it is on the Music Provider side.  Like with Apple, it is their property so they lock their files so they only work within their app.  Even if you are offline and downloaded the list to the device, it still will only play within the Amazon music app.  We pay for the subscription to simply listen within their app.  If we could download and listen on our own devices, I suppose we would not be very motivated to pay for a monthly membership.  My Amazon is about $8 a month. Still within their paid app, we should be able to see the playlist. If we need the MP3 I could see charging for it.  Maybe they will read this and make the change! I won't hold my breath though!
