I spoke with Garmin support. Here was their reply:
Before, the gesture motion would turn off the screen if you moved your wrist in the opposite direction. Now, the screen will only turn off if you are not moving your wrist at all.
This is different from the way the feature was described in the release notes. Oh well, not what I was hoping.
Hello krmidas. On your watch, go to Menu>Settings>System>Display>During Activity>Timeout>Always On. This will allow the stopwatch numbers to display throughout the stopwatch activity.
