Venu 2 won't let me enable pulse ox for sleep only anymore

Venu 2 won't let me enable pulse ox for sleep only anymore without explicitly setting it as Preferred Activity Tracker.

I see that the latest beta firmware has some tweaks to pulse ox setting but not quite sure whether it is related to this or not. I am afraid to try the beta firmware for Venu 2 due to fear of freeze.

Does anyone experienced the same?

  • Hi, I am not sure I am completely following - If you set it as the preferred tracker it will not use the beta unless you follow the steps to install it. I have the beta and have had not issues. But to be fair I really have not had many of the problems reported on this forum and the ones I did have were fixed by Garmin.

  • We don't have to set the device as preferred activity tracker to enable pulse ox for sleep only. For 'All-Day' pulse ox, we have to set it as preferred activity tracker.

  • mine did the same and even with pulse ox selected for all day, it is not recording data. Wondering if the function is no longer working (I no longer see the red lights). Grrrrr.

  • I can confirm that, for any watch (Venu 2 or another Pulse Ox compatible model) to have Pulse Ox turned on for Sleep only or All-Day Pulse Ox, the watch does need to be set as the Preferred Activity Tracker (PAT).  If your watch is set as the PAT, and the Pulse Ox is still not working, please tag me.

  • My understanding is that we can have Pulse OX turned on for Sleep only without explicitly set the watch as preferred activity tracker.

    I do have Venu 2, Forerunner 945 LTE, and Fenix 6 Pro.

    I am using Venu 2 as my preferred activity tracker with All-Day Pulse OX enabled for now. It's currently on v3.51

    I have enabled Sleep only Pulse OX monitoring for both Forerunner 945 LTE and Fenix 6 Pro.

  • My Venu2 is NOT set as preferred activity tracker, nonetheless pulse ox tracking works in all day setting.

  • There were several bugs related to Pulse OX setting with Garmin watches. The setting is keep getting changes when the watch syncs with Connect app. Very frustating...
