I am experiencing major heart rate inaccuracy on treadmill.

It is consistently inaccurate too, walking at a slow pace it's 178 and above. It is only an issue on the treadmill for whatever reason.  I've tried both wrists, stopping and starting the activity and this has happened on well over 10 separate workouts. Does anyone have this happen? It's really making all my stats inaccurate.

  • i don't use a treadmill, but it does the same thing in walk or cardio mode when i am walking. fenix 6 did it, coros pace 2 did it...

i think i read someone state it has something to do with your cadence and the watch moving. i think a chest strap is the only solution, unfortunately.

  • Wow, that is a shame, I may try a strap tomorrow then to see.

  • I discussed this with Garmin today. He said something about an accelerometer might be causing the issue.  I found my LifeFitness treadmill interface more accurate- dual sensors.  Also if you grab the sensors, your steps will be off since your arms are not moving and your body is not moving forward in space.  Bottom line- try the strap but your treadmill will likely be more accurate.  When outside, it seems to work fine for me.
